Johnathon Henninger
PHOTOJOURNALIST
Johnathon is kind and curious. A sincere interest in the lives and stories of the people with whom he works allows him the incredible honor to share their triumphs and defeats. He produces both video and still images as an independent photographer who contributes to universities, newspapers, magazines and documentaries.
Johnathon's career started in 2003, after harassing the editor of The Herald, a daily newspaper in New Britain, Connecticut, until he was given an news assignment. He soon worked as a daily staffer at The CT Post, them the Record Journal before becoming an independent photographer in 2010.
Winning several awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and New England Associated Press News Executives Association, his images have been featured in the Hartford Courant, USA Today, MSN.com, The NY Post, Daily Mail Online, WNPR, WSHU, among others. He made video for two HBO documentaries, The Cheshire Murders (2013) and The Newburgh Sting (2014). He's proud to share a 2015 Peabody Award with the creators of The Newburgh Sting for bringing attention to the questionable practices of the FBI in a case ending with a sentence of for 4 men of 25 years.
